PL (Proof-like): Special coins struck at the Mint with a brilliant relief is struck on a brilliant field and not intended for circulation despite the fact that their composition is identical to the coins produced for circulation. If Proof-like coins have been removed from their protective envelope or original package, it is harder to differentiate them from uncirculated coins. Proof-like coins are struck up to two times on numismatic presses. Also called Brilliant uncirculated (BUNC).

Isaac Brock

This is the first of four circulation coins which commemorate key historical figures who influenced the fight for Canada from 1812 to 1814. Major–General Brock died leading a charge against the Americans during the Battle of Queenston Heights on October 13, 1812 and earned the title “the hero of Upper-Canada.”

Tecumseh

This is the second of four circulation coins which commemorate key historical figures who influenced the fight for Canada from 1812 to 1814. Over the course of the War of 1812, Tecumseh led over 2,000 warriors and fought at the sieges of Fort Meigs and Fort Stephenson. Tecumseh’s support for Major-General Sir Isaac Brock at the capture of Detroit was decisive3 though he ultimately fell at the Battle of the Thames at Chatham, Ontario in 1813.
