Re: Two questions re Charlton catalogue (French) 2021
Thank you again Bill. I am going to have a meeting with the 4 grandchildren and their parents. Hopefully we can agree on a revised collection strategy. I will let you know.

Re: Two questions re Charlton catalogue (French) 2021
Bill and Coinguy: From many of the posts on this forum, it is obvious that coin collecting should be seriously thought about before plunging into it feet first rather than head first! I am one of the feet first group and while I have had much satisfaction in building up the four collections, I would...

Re: Two questions re Charlton catalogue (French) 2021
Thank you Bill and Coinguy. I have 4 grandchildren aged 15 to 21 and I have been building a coin collection for each of them from circulating coins. For the past 6 years I have purchased the coin sets issued by the mint. I occasionally buy a Charlton catalog to keep informed and I occasionally check...

Re: Two questions re Charlton catalogue (French) 2021
Thank you Bill. Second question unanswered ... did I word my question inappropriately? What I want to know is should I put this in one of my 4 grandchildren's collection?

Two questions re Charlton catalogue (French) 2021
1. Do the posted values under MS-63 to MS-65 mean that most circulated coins are inferior to MS-63?
2. On page 233 there is a line for a 1998W (N.I.I.) two dollar coin. One of these popped up in loose change. What do people do with such coins?

Re: 1953 Canadian Elizabeth II coronation tokens
Hello
I was born in 1941 and remember being given (along with everyone else!) the token you describe. I have no idea when and where I may have lost track of mine. Just passing on this information.

Re: New collector looking for advice
Precious cargo received with heartfelt thanks (from me and grandchildren) ... I must insist on remuneration of some sort as there is no way I could have found these in circulating coins. Can I procure something for you in Canada?

Re: New collector looking for advice
Henry ... Excuse delay in replying ... taking inventory is time-consuming. Here is a quick list. Pennies: 2009 & 2007 Zinc (missing for all four grandkids); 1965 Large Beads Blunt 5, missing 2; 1955 & 1954 (have a few but cannot determine if shoulder fold or no shoulder fold, large or small ...

Re: New collector looking for advice
I am collecting cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, Loonies, and Toonies. I initially tried the blue books but quickly gave up on them because they did not accommodate the varieties. I now use the appropriate plastic sheets for each coin. I have gone back as far as I can by purchasing rolls from bank b...

New collector looking for advice
I am working on 4 collections of Canadian coins (all except 50 cents) for my 4 grandkids. In hindsight I wish I would have opted for only one coin (say 25 cents). Up to now the collections include only circulated coins (I am avoiding buying for 4 sets). My questions: What are the pros and cons of ci...
