Picked up both of these recently, both are 0.999 silver, noticed that neither one has been listed here.

Re: 1982 50 cent Large beads with damage
How would you explain that the damage is on opposite sides of the coin. Both obverse and reverse are on the lower right side

1982 50 cent Large beads with damage
Going through some coins today and came across this 1982, while checking for large or small beads I noticed that both sides have damage in the lower right area. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Thanks Troubadour
That's what I thought too, but can't figure out the rust. I think I will try a little alcohol on it.

Has any one else run into this? It looks to me like the plating has rubbed off and it is starting to rust.

Picked this up a while back thought it was probably post mint damage but looking at it closer today I noticed what appears to be a cud on the A. Any thoughts on what could cause this?

Re: Unreal.....
I was curious so I checked out ebay. The 2009 Specimen set with the Blue Heron loonie, latest set sold for $60. Individual coins not including 1 cent which I couldn't find as sold for a total of $65.75 with the Blue Heron loonie selling for $43. My guess is that the only way to get these is from a s...
