i don't think money will disappear anytime soon. some people don't have credit/debit cards RCM still produce incredible amount of circulating coins paper money gives privacy electronic transactions can be comprised small credit transactions are expensive for retailers not enough battery on your phon...

most people will keep their low denominations old banknotes. some including $1,000 notes will be returned to Bank of Canada or will hit the numismatic market, but not enough to affect the value.

if this have a special meaning to you like a keepsake, you can keep and enjoy it.
if you want to sell it, you won't get a lot more than face value.
