Re: 1955 Fu Manchu

If you are looking at prices in the listings on this site, those are just a guide and can be higher or lower. I do notice the selling price on this coin is higher but it is a case of supply and demand. Personally I can’t see paying such a high premium for a die clash as they certainly aren’t uncommo...

Re: Penny colours

What is sdsl, are they a grader? I have never heard of them. When you say a double T, I take it you are referring to the repunched T in GRATIA. In a case like this, a slight difference in colouring would not make a difference in value. Most people would regard Trace Red the same as Red Brown and mos...

Re: Penny colours

Trace Red is a term used by CCCS and refers to 10-40% remaining lustre and red colour.
This would be lower than Red Brown.

Welcome to the forum

Not an error, someone has milled out the reverse, possibly to make a love token.
Just a damaged coin now.

Re: 1935 nickel error? Or did someone mess with the coin.

There is no way that could have happened when the coin was struck so
it has to be damage, no matter how it happened.

Re: Canadian penny weights ???

It depends on the year.
Canadian CENTS ( Pennies are from the UK) can weigh 3.24g, 2.8g, 2.5g, 2.25g, 2.35g
plus the mint tolerance for each one so there is quite a variance.
Also if you are weighing coins, they should be weighed to a minimum of two decimal points.

Re: 1950 Canada 1 cent SP65 RED CAMEO

According to this site, that last 4 sold at auction averaged $525.00 although the
toning on yours would negate the Red designation and probably lower the value.

Welcome to the forum

No, it is not Doubled. It is just wear with a broken post on the P.
Also include the denomination in your heading. Don’t know if I’m
looking at a half dollar or a dollar.

Photo a little out of focus but it looks like a small die crack.
Not uncommon on beaded coins. I have seen some go nearly completely around the beads.

Re: 82 83 different queens mouth chin

Without pics, I will take a guess as to what you have.
In 1982 there were two different styles, Large Bead And Small Bead.
The Small Bead was the same as the 1983. The Large Bead had a slightly different portrait.
My guess is that you have a 1982 Large Bead.

Welcome to the forum

Correct, it is an out of collar strike. Easy to tell by the larger diameter.

If you can see copper on the edge, then it is just a regular 25 cent business strike.
