Re: 1884 Large Cent Variety Question: Obverse #1 or #2
The 2014 edition will really tell you nothing about the large cents. Every year, the back 80-100 pages are dedicated to varities of a specific denomination/monarch. The 2011 was on Vicky large cents. The 2014 edition is earlier 50 cent pieces and is Paul Glover's (a friend of mine) work. Last year ...

Re: 1884 Large Cent Variety Question: Obverse #1 or #2
It's a #2. The crown tip impinges on the bead at the top, the neck truncation doesn't end just above the bead over the C (it's between them), and the left foot on the N in Regina has the serifs on both sides equal length (the Obv 1 will have a longer one on the right, inside one). And, with all Obv...

1884 Large Cent Variety Question: Obverse #1 or #2
Hello All, Hoping someone could help me identify which 1884 obverse I have here. #1 or #2? Second, is calling this VG- too generous (Clearly, I've been in the states too long, having joined in on the +/- grading bandwagon haha)? Much appreciated, Steve http://www.coinsandcanada.com/forum/class/test/...

Re: 1964 Off-Centre.
Why do you want to waste money with a Third Party Grader when you can see what you have? You are not interested in any grade that they will assign .. only that it's off-center. Unless a coin is worth $100 or so (and I mean what you can actually SELL it for, not what a book says), then it's not wort...

1852 Upper Canada One Penny Token
Hello All, Just looking for a little help with grading this Upper Canada One Penny Token. I'm rather new to pre-Confederation coinage/tokens. Plus, one man's EF is another's AG lol. I'm starting to understand that die cracks are rather common(ish) with these and the half pennies (assuming it does no...

Re: 1858 & 1859 (DP N9 #1) Help/Questions
Hi Bill, Thank you for replying. While I can't seem to get the loupe/phone camera combo to take any better photos, I did take it back to the dealer I know and trust. He and his assistant were both certain that it is double stamping on the nine. With that said... there is what appears to be a DC abov...

1858 & 1859 (DP N9 #1) Help/Questions
Hi All... Made a good haul down here in the states today (Michigan). I was thrilled that my local dealer held back a 1964 off-centre error coin, and only wanted a buck. Anyway, he whips out a bag, and says "I kept these for you -- they came in yesterday." It was a bag of 51 large pennies. ...

Got this for a buck today... in the States. Actually, purchased a BUNCH of things today. For less than a poutine. (Will be posting in general coin question area about the Victoria & George V haul that came with this). 'Merica! Any premium for these off-centres back 'at home'? http://www.coinsand...

1940 s Wheat Penny big-time damage
Stumbled across this... Thank goodness the 'flip it over and take a look' switch went off. Would have tossed this gem of an error in the 'recycle' pile. Extensive end-to-end damage. Different die cracks all over. I see the delam element. But this thing (pic may not be doing it justice) has several d...

In regards to the Queen's short-lived original hairstyle, a side-by-side with the new is quite striking actually. I hope this helps you, and anyone else that may be satanically challenged, see into the dark side http://www.moneymuseum.ca/images/DevilsFace.jpg Cheers Thank you for the side-by-side. ...

Cheers
The feedback is much appreciated!! Thank you.

1954 $2 and 1967 $1... Looking for help.
Is there a paper guru out there who could tell me what I have here? (I'm assuming face value) but I can't seem to find match-up the serial numbers, for the two in particular, on any online resource guides. $1: L/O 8358431 Beattie/Rasminsky (I've come to the conclusion this is a face value note). $2:...
