Thank you for that extremely useful info gentlemen. After reading the very interesting and educational info in the link you provided Bill there is no doubt this is mechanical doubling. As to the value the coin, it is only in Fine condition, however for me its value lies in the exemplification of thi...

Re: 1955 Double Die Obverse
Ok thanks for the info. Please see attached images of selected legend letters. If anyone would like to see a few other letters I will accommodate. As I stated previously, the majority of the letters show the DD effect.

1955 Double Die Obverse
I was going through a small lot of just over 50 x 1955 quarters to see if I had any of the double die reverse variety. Unfortunately, I did not. As I was doing this I checked for any obverse or reverse die breaks. In the lot I did discover one quarter with a die break, however the most interesting f...

Re: Someone please explain
Thank you all for your input. Obviously my question was rhetorical. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going insane.
BTW, Happy New Year. Hopefully things will get better for the world. RD

The only one I have is an E/E. Suspect both are equally common and of equal value then. I would consider it a variety. RD

Reminder - Beware of Inept (or fraudulent) NGC Grading
Another prime example. Hair, jewels and rim edges clearly worn. Coin is at best an EF+. Reverse (not pictured) had two rim dings and quite worn edges. BTW, although not annotated on the holder this coin is the slightly rarer of the two C2 dies used (O2R die) in minting approximately 100,000 of the 1...

Re: 1929 1 cent
Concur, both are 'normal' . A high 9 is very obvious. Some 29s have a 'tilted 9' where the 9 is rotated slightly clockwise making the 9 appear high since the tail of the 9 is raised and is almost even relative to the base of the 2.

Re: CPMS Website
Well, I received an auto response to my email stating that the email address is no longer active. I guess I will assume CPMS is now indeed defunct. What a shame. Undoubtedly a sign of the times and demographic shift.

Looking for images - Bank of Nova Scotia $20 'Dory' Note
Hello all. I am conducting a study of the BNS $20 'Dory' and would like to include the latest registry info for that note. I have collected images for about 17 years and have determined that there are so far 190 unique notes of all four issues. I only have unique images of 175 and would like to clos...

CPMS Website
Anyone know what is going on with the CPMS website/organization? Are they defunct? I paid for a one year membership on 22 May I haven't heard a thing from them. No welcome, no membership info, nothing. I went to their website tonight and I got a lovely "account suspended page". I sent them an email ...
