1886 5 Cents Looking for opinions
Purchased this 1886 5 Cents online. When it arrived I noticed something with the 1 in 1886. I can't seem to find anything online about this being a known error/variety. Looking for opinions on: do other think this looks doubled? And if you've seen or heard of other 1886s like this. Thanks. http://ww...

Re: 1874 H Crosslet-4 5 Cents: Double stamped, inverted.
Update: They simply didn't check them for errors. Nice.
(Submission form was filled out correctly, and appropriate funds submitted).
Off to Fed/Ex to send them back.
Not amused.

Re: 1874 H Crosslet-4 5 Cents: Double stamped, inverted.
NGC graded it 'Good Details/Rev. Damage'. Not a happy camper this morning. I dont get it. Is Good Details a G-4 or simply a comment? And this reverse damage of which they speak ... Is NGC saying that the rev. of another coin left a heavy impression on this planchet before it was struck and that's t...

Re: 1871 50 Cents Double Die (Double C)
I'm deer and hog hunting out in Okla. I normally just answer questions on Vicky large cents, unless it's something that I'm familiar with ... I'm not much into silver, but it looks like a repunch to me. Thanks guys. Hey Bill (or anyone who can help)... just to clarify, 'repunch', would that be what...

Re: 1871 50 Cents Double Die (Double C)
VG Cheers Thanks, yet again. Any idea about the 'error' at all? Just want to know if it's a recognized double die, or machine doubling. Haven't 'seen' Bill from Burl around for a while -- our resident representative from the League of Extraordinary Numismatists. Sometimes I think it's just the thre...

1871 50 Cents Double Die (Double C)
Was happy to cherry pick this. Very happy camper. Wondering, does anyone know if there's a DDR number for this (I see CiC has it listed, but no assigned DDR number)? Two birds, one stone... What would you grade this at? http://www.coinsandcanada.com/forum/class/test/1871fifty3.jpeg http://www.coinsa...

Re: 1912 Large Cent
Oy vey. That's gonna leave a mark. I assume what I see as blue is actually bright green. Yeah, it's green. That's a drag. But thanks for the tip. This one, believe it or not, I actually paid a slight premium for. (slight ). But c'est la vie. Note to self: Always bring your loupe with you. haha I ap...

1912 Large Cent
Just looking for grading help with this 1912 Large Cent. There's a huge leap in prices realized (obviously it's going to go up for sale) in the MS range with large cents. I'm wondering if it's even of MS caliber. If so, would anyone like to take a shot at it? Or what you think is the minimum grade f...
