Re: Do any of you members sort for .999 Nickels.

I think I may pick up a box or two of nickles for the weekend... woot woot Be on the lookout for: 2001P Bugtails There's info in a thread in the French forum on them. I found a half dozen of these. Chances are they may have die chips in the date as well. 2000 (no P) Bugbacks 3 or 4 I think I found....

Re: Do any of you members sort for .999 Nickels.

Indeed I do. This past winter was so damn long I took to searching 10 rolls or so at a time for a 2000P. 20 maybe 30 rolls or more a week. I kept all the pre-82 nickels. How can you not save them? The initial ratio of pure nickel 5c from area banks was about 13% iirc, as high as 15% or more in some ...

I mean would you throw 6K for a coin in a flip .

Not this one. 4 large max. Fercryin out loud, it's barely a VG no?. Obverse-wise that is. The rev tells a different tale though--looks a lot better. Maybe it looks a little too good--if you know what I mean.

In regards to the Queen's short-lived original hairstyle, a side-by-side with the new is quite striking actually. I hope this helps you, and anyone else that may be satanically challenged, see into the dark side

Re: 1951 Penny looking for input.

Sorry--I should be more clear: after mint damage. The impression I get is that the rim has taken some heavy damage while in circulation at the same spot as the die crack, which appears to start and perhaps finish at the edge of the die .

Re: 1951 Penny looking for input.

Clearly a die crack at the south end, could it be AMD at the top? Retained Broken Die IMHO.

Amazing... not really. It only goes to show how supply and demand economics really works. Henry in this case, is just very, very lucky by birth sounds like your LCS is a pretty neat place to visit.. You would think so. It's called Needful Things . Meet the owner... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsf...

Re: 2007 Curling Quarter without D.G.

That's the wheelchair curling 25c struck to commemorate the Paralympic Games. There were two. The other is the 2009 sledge hockey quarter. Note the little emblem and text on the obverse. At the same time a 10 coin series came out depicting winter olympic sports. On those the obverse was identical (G...

Re: 1981 One Cent Planchet Flaw

Very nice. Good eye.

Die error too. Note the filling in the crook of ERII's neck. Also in her lips I think.
Thanks for posting such a high grade planchet flaw. I can only hope I'll ever find one.

Re: Rare 1965 Large Beads Points 5

Sorry Rick, that's a large beads-blunt 5. The pointed 5 has a much sharper point than blunt 5. I know-- because I've been searching for the 1965 1 cent small beads, and both blunt and pointed varieties elude me for some odd reason.

Re: 1867-1967 confederation

Nice box! Here's more info. about this token. m ... Hey! I see my guesstimate of 2-5$ was pretty well bang on. Launers, IMO all Confederation medallions still in cellophane are in MS (mint state) grade. From what you've shown I'd go out on a limb and say yours are all MS on the high end. The one I ...

Re: 50 - 1954 $1 Notels Sequential

I don't pursue Canadian paper currency anymore, but I do recall Lawson-Bouey to be the last signatures of the 1954 series-- the last before the monopoly money was issued in 1973 iirc. That said, I figured (A) that thousands upon thousands of these ones were stashed away because everyone knew they'd ...

Re: What would you bid on this for---

I concure with la cenne; $3 -$4. Do a search for Canada 1859 1c looking for sold items Henry. You'll see.

As to its origin, technically this one cent piece wasn't issued by a country, but by the Province of Canada, no?

Re: Are my coins a GOOD grade despite they were cleaned??

Don't clean them anymore than you have already. There's nothing wrong with the tarnish on the GRV and VRI cents. Removing the patina will only devalue these coins and lessen their appeal. Unless there is green corrosion on a copper coin there are few reasons to clean it. If it's filthy with gunk try...
