Re: 1 Cent 1897 (low 7)

The last digit in the date (7) was handpunched into the dies for that year. Because of that (and it taking more than one whack of the hammer to the punch) you will have some differences in the position of the 7 with the rest of the digits. You will have high, low, near, far, canted, etc depending on...

Re: Newly discovered 5 cent 1867-1967 **looking for buyers/authenticators**

When you take photos of individual coins, make sure that they are taken straight down (perpendicular) toward the coin. I see lots of coins and see nothing of any great (or even small) value. Re: 1968 siver dimes

If you hold each of the coins 3" or so above a hard table and drop them, and see if they sound the same. Even .500 silver will have a nice little ring.

Re: 1968 siver dimes

According to my reference book, Philly didn't strike any silver dimes .. only nickel. Both Philly and Ottawa struck nickel coins. Only Ottawa struck .500 silver coins. Phila coins have grooves with a square bottom and Ottawa coins have V-shaped bottoms. I think that you have 1 nickel coin and one 50...

Re: monnaie ou jeton

Go to this site.. it is this site in French (the way that it started) with much more traffic:

For those that don't speak French (like me), there is a French to English translation link.

Just from the wear around the hole and inside it, shows that it was on a chain or something for years.

Need photos both sides, straight down and bigger. Can't see anything that small and coins mostly graded by the Obverse.

Re: penny 1888/3 error

Hard to tell from the photo, but it could be a partially plugged die there. But there also looks like crud along the lower left loop, carrying into the upper loop on the lower left side. Heavily corroded.
