Re: 1870 Canadian ten cent coin (Narrow 0)
I'd say F-12 with reverse damage. Some damage will turn a very nice coin into a filler. IE, my 1925 nickel is VF or maybe better (still has luster) but I only paid $30 for it (deep gouges on either side of the effigy). Are you kidding me? A bank?!? EXTREMELY DISTURBING: IMF Goes Directly After Bank Depositor Money Start stacking my friend. FWIW Ag is historically undervalued against Au ... it's best to have both. BTW, you should consider PMs to be a hedge against inflation or economic collapse, not as an investmen...

Re: How much tax or duty do I pay on a Canadian silver dolla
I don't think you have to pay any, although you may have to cough up the PST (on a declared value such as what you're suggesting) depending on what prov. you're in.
Nevertheless, check out this link, it might be of some help: coincommunity.com forum

Clipped?
Yes. Again, you can clearly see the Blakesley effect (weak strike) at the opposite rim
Nice coin. How is it I've never found one of these?

Re: how to store coins
Avoid wrapping your coins in paper. Paper contains acids and other harmful chemicals. To give you an example; some time ago and for whatever reason, I had a Dutch 1 G and 2 1/2 G, and a German 5 DM coin (all silver alloy) wrapped up in Kleenex and when I unwrapped them after a few years they were co...

1932 1 cent flawed planchet
Very similar to one found on this website; perhaps even from the same batch of planchets: 1 cent 1932 - Flaw planchet above DEI (Image #1588) A word of warning to overly curious collectors like myself... Don't probe, pick at, or rub these things! The date had a bit of bright green verdigris in the 9...
