yes there are a lot of those notes around, sounds like with the story behind it it should just be a keeper .
maybe some day it will be the start of a collection.

Would love to see pictures. If your plan is to sell it then having it graded could be worth it. If the grade is on the high end I hope you have a good place to store it as in a Safety deposit box.

I'm no expert , and will be interested to see what everyone has to say on this but it looks like the color has been removed, I think it was coin that the reverse was called "Purple gift box" color has been intentionally removed!!

I would agree with Bill, don't trust what someone post on the internet , But with that said I have yet to see one in circulation, maybe just the area I live in .

Neat coin. Strange it should seem to be in that condition , you would have thought it would be spotted and pulled out by someone long before!!!!

I don't know how to go about it or what it cost to do ,But ebay seems like a place to sell things. I've seen some stuff sell for crazy prices there.

Had to dig out my 54 to compare , What I noticed then is that the two printings front and back are out of line high and low are they not? At least the note I have the back print is vary close to centering on the front print. the note here back is way lower and has a very large top border. Just some ...

It is a rather strange looking note, But momomomo how do you cut the border off the face side but not the back side??? the other thing that jumps out at me is how the border on the front side seems fairly even on the three sides. if the note was printed out of register that much should not the borde...

I don't think you will find meany collectors that would ever be interested in a coin that has post mint damage. unless it was a coin containing silver or gold and then you might get more then face value for it.

All you readers out there correct me if im wrong but. You should be checking them with a magnet. if they stick to the magnet they are not silver at all!!!
if they don't stick then they would have %50 silver content
