Re: 2001 proof like sets

With Mintage has “ Mintage has been limited to 135,000 sets worldwide” printed on the certificate.
Without Mintage has this missing on the certificate.

Re: uncirculated sets from RCM

Depends on the year, your not giving much information.
Up until 1967, they were known as PL sets, after 1967 they were known as BU sets.
The grades would depend on the coin. Each coin would be graded independently.

Re: 1976 CDN PENNY with red patches on obverse

Without a picture, it is really hard to tell, we would be just guessing. It is possible that there was something spilled on the CENT.

Type 5 is the only 1965 variety that has the medium beads. It also has the pointed 5.

Welcome to the forum.
That is correct for Victoria coins, it wasn’t until 1902 that the change to medal alignment was introduced.

Re: 2003P Old Effigy Non-Mag Penny

If you are looking to sell it, then break it out and get it authenticated and graded.
If you are going to keep it, then leave it as it is, no sense spending the money as you know what you have.

Re: 1947 Dot nickle

The weight is OK. What you have on the Obverse is called a MAD ( Misaligned Die) which causes the rim to be slightly off centre. Fairly common and does not affect the value of the coin. Too bad yours is worn and scratched or it would be worth a fair amount but you should be able to get a premium for...

Re: Best Charlton edition?

Most editions are pretty much the same. All they do every year is add the previous years coins. You would need two editions as coins and currency are in different editions. These would be used for reference but the coin values are not that accurate. To find out the value, I usually check the sold li...

Re: 1947 Dot nickle

Yes, it is a 47 dot and it is a good coin.
Can’t really grade it when you only show one side.

Re: 2003P Old Effigy Non-Mag Penny

There were no PL coins issued after 1967 so I would say that the PL columns are meant for the Proof coins.
If you have a non magnetic 2003P cent, I would certainly break it out and send it off to be certified and graded.

Re: silver penny

If as you say it is all silver, then the other alternative would be that it is a cast replica possibly made by a jeweller which was not all that uncommon. This would account for the thinness and the rough appearance of the lettering. There is no way that this was produced by the mint, it would have h...
