1947 nickel

Post by greenthumbs22 » Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:38 am

I was going through some old change when a nickel caught my eye, it was a 1947 nickel with a maple leaf in the corner, which i have seen before. But this coin is rough looking, like its frosted, or a weird kind of corrosion i have never seen before, on a nickel. Any thoughts? Did the mint produce a frosted version of this coin? I can post pictures later now that ive read how to take decent pictures using my magnifying glass and camera. this site is great.

thanks for taking the time to read this,
your thoughts are appreciated.

I can tell you it is only worth 5 cents. It is big time damaged. Frosted weren't produced until sometime in the 80's. Spend it. Not worth keeping in my opinion.
