1938 silver dollar corrosion

Post by spiess » Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:34 am

1938 silver dollar corrosion,
the coin is made of Alloy: 80% silver, 20% copper.
how come silver and copper corrode or create rust?
is it because they put other Alloy?

It isn't rust .. has to be some other chemical reaction ... or else the coin is a fake and it has iron in it.
