In the Charlton catalogue it has a note on this type saying cast counterfeits exist. Would you guys agree this is one of those ? It's not perfectly round and has a blown edge which suggests casting to me

Not even close but do you have a real one to make a comparisons? The edge does look rough.

Sorry for the late reply I had given up hope on it.
I have a nice genuine one too yes, this is a million miles away from it its definitely a counterfeit but I am not so sure it's the type mentioned in charltons
