Queen Elizabeth Royal tours coins

Post by debnak1705 » Sun Feb 04, 2024 2:24 am

These are Queen Elizabeth royal tours, 1 crown, gold clad coins. At the base of the back of her hair, there is what looks like a crack on each coin in the same spot. Thought I would share. Would that be considered a mint error? I thank you for any input about these coins. Does it devalue it or increase it? Or does it stay the same?

If the "crack" is in the same spot on all the coins, then it must be part of
the design. You couldn't have the same crack on numerous different designs.

OK I was thinking because it was the same effigy that it was the same effigy die cast that was used.

I’m not sure but looks like a die crack to me. Want to hear from a expert but in my opinion all the coins a struck from the same dies and the colour is added after.

Yes, the colour is added after everything else is the same on each coin
