1914 one cent

Post by Damian.B » Wed Nov 30, 2011 3:20 am

This 1914 cent has a bad looking E in the word Georgius, i would like your advice if it's was made like this...??
I bought all these in a bag containing all kind of coins from an auction i paid less than a 100$ there was more than this in actual money in the bag, i mean by their original value.
I have large cent from 1913, 1914 and 1915 and two of them have errors.

Looks like a flaw planchet, but it's possible that it was removed with a sharp object. I see scratches on it.

I tlooks like post-mint damage ... to make it say "gorgius" istead of Georgius, but I didn't think was George was very pretty.
