1979 1 cent obverse error

Post by verdigris » Mon Feb 04, 2013 8:55 pm

Found roll-searching on the weekend. No doubling of any date numerals but a pretty good looking 79, until I flipped it over and saw how banged up it was. Spotted the filling under the chin with my naked eye right off the bat, so that was a nice surprise. Filling in front of face and just about everywhere on the face that it could be. Too bad it's in such crappy shape but I'll put it front and centre just the same, because come to think of it, I don't think I found this variety of error before. A similar coin can be seen here, but this one goes above and beyond.

She doesn't get any better-looking in this second photo, although it does show just how heavy the filling is in front of and below the ear. Her Majesty's tears are a lot clearer here too. Cheers
