George VI with a large lamination

A friend of mine found this in a roll of cents here in the States. Any thought of what it is worth. For more info see --

This looks like PM dammage to me.Would be nice to see the reverse. :Rechercher:

Looks like a legitimately flawed planchet to me. Just that a lot of the metal has peeled and been lost in circulation.
Additionally, FWIW, it appears the incuse towards the outside of the reverse die was extremely eroded, especially at the rim/denticles.
I have a 1942 just like it (sorta)...
