I don't come across too many canadian cents here, but i found one i was curious about. Am i looking at a die chip? any feedback much appreciated.

Yes, that looks like a die chip to me. The 2007's, 2008's, and the 2009's had a few different die chips in the logo, in both the magnetic and non-magnetic ones. Nice find!
