Why is one different than the other?

Hello all,

I was coin roll hunting and i found a 1980 one cent piece that is wider and has lines compared to the regular 1980 one cent piece. is this common and may i have an idea what may of caused this please.

Don't know too much about error coins,
but I would hazard to guess that it may have
been caused by a loose collar.
Maybe someone with more knowledge on
errors could give an opinion.

Do you have pictures of the edge?

This year/denomination is known for many planchet errors and varieties.
