I picked up a few rolls of new 2008 cents to hunt through and found approx. 25 with a problem with the lamination. Most were very minor but visible with magnification but then I have a couple that looks like the one below. How common is this?

I should mention that the damage also appears under the hair at the back of the neck.

These look like they have been struck through grease. Notice how each one is slightly different.
After each strike there gets to be less grease on the die reducing the struck through area slightly.

It sounds like alot of these coins got struck through grease. Maybe the die had a little damage to it from the grease to do such a long run of strikes. Just my opinion.
