1909 Canada 5 cent Round leaves cross over Bow tie

I have 1909 Canada 5 cent Round leaves cross over Bow tie. I have further examined the coin and have found something very different with the coin. All of the other 1909's that I have seen detailed pictures of round leaves cross over bow tie the cross is in a different position . They are all up to the denticles, the coin I have the cross is at the same distance from the denticles as a 1903 5 cent cross. Also there is no additional metal around the cross as in the others that I have seen. Is this a new variant of the 1909?
