Third party graders keep track of population of Mint State coins. That’s what dictates the valve.

That is so not true. The difference between a ms-64 and a ms-65 can jump hundreds of dollars because of population.
Comics are the same. A grade 9.6 comic can be $100 but a 9.8 can be $1000. Supply and demand have a factor but the price point starts with population
