You are right it is an inverted N. But its also blundered. So, it can be called a Blundered Inverted N. Are there any other inverted N's in Victorian coinage?

First I've seen.Can you post photos of the complete coin?

I will have to get back with the photos on this one. I can't get the macro function on my camera to work. And its going to take a while to figure out what the problem is, or if the camera needs to be repaired.

Thanks Bill, you're right in saying they are all different dies. The 1872 25 cent has H's all over the place which does make it easy to distiguish between most dies.

These are 1872 25 cent pieces? Defininately a variety I would like to find.

Thanks Michael. I checked all I could find at the Edmonton show and recently on ebay and it is not rare to find in circulated condition. Here's the best I could find in Edmonton.
