1936 Bar

I've always wondered...
...and because imo the 1936 25c Dot is one of Canada's least appreciated coins...
...and before the :Chinois: buy them all...

Can someone please explain why I'm expected to collect a die crack like it's worth something? Is the 1936 2-bit bar straight across not a plain old die crack??

And what is the "Dot/Bar" scam all about? Is there an estimated population of these varieties? Is there some documented historical reason that might prompt me to give a damn?

Carry on.
