I was coin roll hunting a couple boxes of toonies this morning and this coin stood out. It was non-magnetic weighed 8.84g and had a proof like finish. Being relatively new to this hobby I had to search the internet to find out that indeed there were silver toonies minted in 1997. I never imagined that I would find silver while coin roll hunting toonies! Unfortunately, since it has been circulated most of the value is gone but I'm happy to add it to my collection.

Someone must have broken it out of the 1997 Hockey Proof set.
It is Sterling Silver with a gold plated centre.
