Hi,
I am new here and learning. I have a Canadian one dollar bill and the serial number starts with CI. Just wondering if that is worth anything? Also a lot of the serial numbers listed have a * in front of them , what does that mean and what if you have the first 2 letters but not the*?
Thanks
Gina
1954 Canadian Dollar
Re: 1954 Canadian Dollar
The * stands for "replacement note". You need to have the * on your bill for it to be a replacement.
What are the signatures on your bill and what's the entire serial number?

Re: 1954 Canadian Dollar
I saw a 1 dollar 1954 with a prefix of *A/A with the signature of J.R. Beattie & L.Rasminsky.
I saw in this site, 1 dollar 1954, Beattie-Coyne or Coyne-Towers with the prefix of *A/A?
But not with J.R. Beattie & L.Rasminsky signature
Does it worth the same?
Thank you very much

Re: 1954 Canadian Dollar
spies-
You should really put this question on its own post so that we don't
have two different conversations going on here.
I will answer your question once you do that.
Thanks.
ginalota-
There were 40 million bills printed in that series so even in CH UNC,
it would still only be worth around 4 or 5 dollars
