There is an auction site selling a 1935 Canadian $1000 bill that looks very real to me( but what do I know) if it is a replica it can’t be legally sold can it?

Unfortunately it is the wild, wild west on that popular selling platform. You sell copies, doctored notes, phoney certified notes in copied TPG holders- all okay. You sell a few legit notes but have a problem with a deadbeat seller (or don't charge tax) & all hell breaks loose!

You can always try to report them to eBay admin (I see collectors reporting these scumbags all the time) but the sellers tend to change their seller ID's & pop up again peddling the same crap (so the scam continues). It really hurts the hobby b/c there's always some unfortunate soul who believes that a 1935 $1000 note can be had for $25.00 (& then they try to be rid of it & so on).
