This coin is a counterfeit coin. The digits are all wrong. Compare it to a real one in the price guide. This coin is illegal to even own, let alone try to sell.

No, this not a counterfeit coin, I found it in a very old piece of furniture. of course people would say its fake as its not theirs......

Then the guy who had the old furniture had the fake. Just look at the 2 and the final 1. Look at the coin/price guide on this site and look at the digits on a REAL 1921 from the museum. The 1921's have been heavily faked for the last 30-40 years.

I have to agree with Bill in Burl.
Don't get so up in arms when someone is trying to help you from making a mistake.
Those new pictures just make it even more obvious that coin is counterfeit.
If you are so sure the coin is genuine, then send it out to get certified and graded
and prove us wrong. I don't know of anyone who would buy a high price coin
like yours that was not certified tot be authentic.
If you look at your listing on eBay, yours is the only one that hasn't been certified and graded.

I attached a picture with a real 1921 piece and copied your picture. I circled some key areas and you can see some major differences (download or enlarge). Just look at the date itself, it does not match the wear of the lettering above the date. The spacing between the numbers in the date doesn't even match the real coin. So as Bill and Burl have already stated, you have a fake, save yourself from getting labeled as a seller of fakes.

If the RCMP or the local police are reading this thread, I would expect a knock on your door soon. It is against the law to evn possess one of these fakes, let alone trying to sell it and claiming that it isn't a fake. You found it, it was free. Go ahaead and spend $50 to have it authenticated and you'll be out $50 and forever labeled as a cheat.

Don't push your luck Jackattack - that coin is a counterfeit. Your coin was made at the Big Tree Coin Factory in China (which matches your coin).

Do think hard and twice about selling it, or I will not hesitate to escalate this further by emailing this link to a few connections at the RCMP. I also hope the administrators of this site are also paying close attention...

Here is an image of the counterfeit coin available from the Big Tree Coin Factory, in China - it matches the counterfeit coin being offered for sale here.

Considering a 1920 fell out from the boards as well when we worked on the 120 yr old furniture, guess that must be fake to......I have had other members play real dirty pool before trying to low ball, saying ebay users were frauds.... so as far as I'm concerned this forum is full of vipers.......... why would this be aby dufferent. if its a fake he gets his money back. no please. go bother someone else

Jackattack-
I don't see what the age of the furniture has to do with it,
the coins could have been hidden at any time since then.
Maybe original owner knew it was counterfeit and hid it as
it is illegal to own.
Anyhow, I hope you can sleep well after screwing some
uninformed collector out of $5500.00.
For anyones information, Jackattacks eBay name is "mikal3141"
from Lethbridge Alberta.

Jackattack ... If you don't already know, 'nickelsguy" is the foremost expert on Canadian & US fakes and counterfeits. He was personally asked by reps from the US Congress to help them with proposed legislation to counteract forgeries of US coinage. So, if you don't believe the other 6 long-time collectors/experts of Canadian coins, you can take what nickelsguy has to say to the bank. It also looks like someone will get a $5500 refund back from Ebay and back out of someone's pockets.
