5$ bill 1987 #GOV315...

Post by Legrand_Diamond » Wed Jan 04, 2017 6:30 pm

Hi!
I have a 1986 5$ bill (Almost uncirculated)
Signed Bonin/Thiessen
#GOV3150749

I looked it up on this site, seems that a GOV prefixe could be worth something, but i could not find any reference for the digits...
Help anyone?

Sorry to disappoint you, however your $5 is only worth $5.

The ones that are worth more money are ONLY the 20,000 banknotes with S/N's between 7180000-7200000. All other S/N's are basically worth $5.00.

If possible, whenever you or anyone has a query about a banknote or coin please try to post a picture. It can help the many knowledgeable contributors to this forum in giving you or anyone else a more definitive answer.

As for the prices listed here. They are general market values. A dealer will on average usually only give you 40 - 60% of the posted value for most valuable banknotes. If common notes then most times they will likely only give you the face value.

Good luck with future searches.
