Looking for help with a Canadian Penny 1954
Looking for help with a Canadian Penny 1954
Hi folks,
I was cleaning this penny to give to a friend who was born in 1954 when I noticed the edge was off. I'm hoping that someone can tell me what this signifies and whether it confers any additional value on the coin. I'd be grateful for any help you can offer.

Looks like a minor clip. This would be a Planchet Error.
I guess it's too late to tell you to never clean coins.

Thanks:). I held the coin under a magnifying lamp and my daughter took the photos.henrysmedford wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 4:23 pmI’ll let someone else answer your question. But I want complement you on your photography. One of the better jobs I’ve seen for a post like this.

Thank you so much for your reply. Would you be comfortable giving me an idea of how much such a thing might be worth? Less now that I've cleaned it, I understand. I'm thinking to just gift it to the person anyway, but would be grateful for advice.
