Since a few weeks, at San Fransisco Mint, prototype visual inspection system for dies is being tested. This system was designed to eliminate all errors due to dies during the production of coins.
If this system becomes a standard, this would eliminate any possibility of coins found in circulation with rotation error, mule,..
