Hull - Hull Electric Co.
Description
In 1887, Hull City Council asked Thomas Ahearn and Warren Soper, of the Ottawa Electric Railway Co., to install electricity in the streets of the city. It never reaches more than the north end of the Chaudière Bridge in 1891. April 16, 1894, some businessmen submitted to Hull City Council a urban electric transport project linking Hull, Aylmer, Pointe-Gatineau and Ironside. This is the creation of the Hull Electric Company.
In January 1946, the creation by Louis Bisson, of the Transport urbain de Hull, which operates buses, ends the era of electric trams.
