Fred Bowman - Canadian Literature
Born in Kitchener Ontario, educated at the University of Toronto. As a bridge engineer he built bridges across Canada from coast to coast and in many foreign countries for over 50 years.
Served in France during the First World War and was engaged in construction of Liberty ships during the Second World War.
His activites in Numismatics over the last 50 years are too numerous to list. However, a few of the highlights are: The Canada Medal presentend for outstranding work in Numismatics; The J. Douglas Ferguson Award Again for outstanding work in Numismatics.
He was the Honorary Curator of the numismatic collection of the Chateau de Ramezay. Elected first President of the Montreal Coin Club in 1954. Appointed Honorary Vice President to the Canadian Numismatic Association in 1955.
