Re: Does doubling on a coin increase its value?
Although some will say that the coin is actually "doubled" because of the split serifs, I think that it looks like Machine or mechanical doubling. It's caused by the dies being a little loose in the keepers. True repunched or restruck doublings most time DO increase the value, but your dollar has li...

Re: Not sure ?
I agree that there MAY be an area of strike through, but it has so much post-mint damage that it's hard to tell. The coin has led a tough life.

Re: Lincoln 1936 lincoln looks doubled or shifted please help
Hard to tell without it in-hand, but it looks like die deterioration doubling or possible Mechanical doubling, neither one of which is worth any extra value. Just keep it as a well-worn anomaly. There is also a D/C from the nose, again adding no value.

Re: 2004 Canada dime - Can anyone explain this?
It looks to me like the top nickel plating peeled of or is peeling off, letting the copper plate show through. I wouldn't sent it in, as the cost would far exceed the less-than-a-buck value. This may have been the original owner's attempt at an experiment.

Re: Best Calgary coin appraiser and how to sell?
Post your coin here. If you can't actually SELL a coin for $100, then you will spend more in fees, postage and insurance than the coin will ever be worth, depending on the TPG.

Agree with coinguy ... a marketing ploy for people that have their searches keyed to the highest prices.

The 2 Obv's look like 2 different coins. The 1st one looks like VF-30, just based on the crown and mustache. The 2nd photo looks like XF-40, maybe weakly struck Rev.

Follow this thread from another site (which has much more coinage traffic than here). A good friend of mine has quite a few Landon coins and is at the end of this thread:

Re: 1930 dime
From the photo, I can't see anything truly out of sort. I see the dark leaves and maybe a die crack (is it raised above the surface?). Some better photos and a little better explanation of what we are to see may help. I don't see anything that may be of any value.

Re: Error? What kind and would it bring any value
It doesn't look like an error of any kind. It looks like post-mint damage with metal displaced after getting whacked a few times.

How many coins do you have and most denominations? Do you have a Charlton guide or Canadian Coin News "Trends"?
BTW, I live in Burlington and another avid collector is here as well.
