Re: 1969 Dollar with errors

No problem and there are no dumb questions ( unless you ask the
same question over and over) so ask away. Just put each coin on its
own post and be as detailed as possible with your question.

Re: 1969 Dollar with errors

There is nothing on your dollar that would be considered an error.
Every little anomoly is not in an error, in fact about 99.99% of them aren’t.
That dot is probably a small die chip which is fairly common and the rest
is Machine Doubling, another worthless type of doubling.

Re: 1999 Canadian 1 Cent Reverse Rim Mint Error Found

Going on the assumption those marks are raised, then it would appear that there is damage to the
rim of the striking die. If this is the case, it would not be classed as an an error but a variety and
there would be more of the same out there.
If those marks are concuse, then I have no explanation.

Just cut slightly off centre, not uncommon.
It is only worth a premium if part of the adjoining note is showing on it.

Re: $20 Devils Face note

Your DE prefix would be listed on the top line that shows no prefix letters. This line includes all the common prefix’s. A pressed note is a note that through various techniques of flattening tries to restore minor folds or creases. This is frowned upon by collectors as it is a form of alteration. A...

Re: 1954 $2 replacement note

To be a low number, you have to have at least four zeros, preferably five in front of the serial number.
Yours is just a regular serial number.

Also notice the spelling of DOLLAR and it should read D. G, not P. G.

That is what is called a vise job or garage job.
Someone has taken three coins and squeezed them together.
No way that could happen during the minting process.

Re: 1998 One Cent

That is called zinc rot, seen it many times.
The copper plating has been compromised exposing the zinc core
which starts to rot when exposed to air. Might as well get rid of it
as it will only get worse with time.

That “dot” is a minor plating bubble.
That line is just a scratch which is considered damage.

Welcome to the forum

No problem with joining the discussion as long as you start your own thread with
a clear photo of both sides and explain what you think is an error.

Re: Possible error along her bust? 1974 nickle

Agree, the rim is just damage from a hit. The beads are from another coin being pressed into it.
No way for that to happen when the coin was struck.

Re: 1913 Canada Large 1 cent only 5.2 gram Under weighted Coin

Have seen a few of these lately.
It has been attacked by acid which has eaten away the surface
and rims accounting for the lighter weight.
You will probably find the diameter is slightly smaller also.

Re: Wth happened?, canadian nickle

Not an error in any way, PMD. There is no way for that to happen when the nickel was struck.
The obverse has been ground off and the reverse is corroded.
