At first glance I was going to say it was Double Struck but looking closer, it may be that it
was struck with a soft die by someone trying to create an error coin.

Re: Mint Rolls
Your not giving us much info to go on.
Could you supply a little more info such as what year are the coins
and when you say mint paper roll, are you referring to commemorative
wrapping or ordinary paper wrapping.

No, not even close.
There are only 3 1936 dot cents known and they are all specimen quality.

Re: I have a strange one for you guys.
Whatever caused it , it didn’t happen at the mint. It is some sort of damage.
What you think you are seeing is impossible to happen when the coin was struck.

Re: 1962 5 cents doubling both sides of coin
Sorry but that is not a Doubled Die, that is common Machine Doubling, a worthless
type of doubling. In the future, please include a photo of the complete coin when
posting. This sometimes helps when identifying coins.

If you are trying to sell a coin, you need to provide a clear picture of both sides.
Nobody is going to buy an expensive coin sight unseen.

Re: 1861 Nova Scotia Half Cent
Thanks for the shout out. I am on four different coin websites and I know Bill is on at least three as well. Some may say we are a little “rough” on newbies at times but we are both older collectors who don’t sugar coat anything and give direct answers to any questions. There are too many new collec...

Re: 1861 Nova Scotia Half Cent
Hard to give a grade from those pictures. You don’t show the full coin plus the reverse is too dark.
Also shooting through thick plastic doesn’t help. There are also carbon spots which will affect the grade.

Re: New variety or Error 1986
The mint mark is not misplaced, they were hand punched into the striking die until about 1990
and can have slight variations on there positioning. As they are worth 25 cents each, it would
not be worth spending about $100.00 to have them graded.

Can’t tell by photos supplied. They are too dark and pixilated.
From what I can see though, it appears like some sort of damage.

Not a 100% Struck Through Grease. If it was the devices would not be showing.

Re: 1980 D Lincoln Cent filled die
That is a grease filled die, not uncommon, yours is fairly prominent but I have seen some
where over 75% of the relief is filled. Yours should still be worth a premium to someone
who collects these.

Re: 2001 Specimen dime error
Showing the other side confirms that it is a misaligned die (MAD) which only shows on one side.
If it was a off centre strike, it would show the same on both sides.
