Re: phoney toonies
The RCM owns the copyrights of the Queen as like any business you have to prove an infringement then the RCMP will act and the rest of the full force of the Canadian government agencies will act like the CBSA and most important Foreign Service who can demand action with the source country. Collector...

During this time period the RCM has admitted to using a rinse that caused some of their NCLT coins to turn a goldish colour, there was a story and confirmation by RCM spokesperson in Canadian Coin News a little while ago.

Take a sharpie make a small dot directly above the Queen"s head on the plastic, flip over and you can measure the % of rotation, looks like maybe 45 degrees

A pic would be nice, most likely a charter bank
Re: Quarter
A simple weight would confirm if it"s a dryer coin or something else, looks thicker and same diameter maybe shift change and new pressman didn"t change collar. Most dryer coins look funky
Re: Quarter
You need a weight, if no scale head to a Canada Post and ask nicely looks like struck on foreign planchet

Re: Canada one cent 2012 specimen non magnetic
On the RCM website the 2012 specimen penny is made of plated steel planchet, these two coins seems to confirm some copper version were struck for these specimen set.. An quick XRF would confirm for sure, the soft flips should be no problem for an XRF test , not sure if ICCS is using an XRF now.
