I have a theory that the guitar and harp are the result of repetitive clashes of dies which are loose and slowly rotating. As the guitar continues to strike coins the damage caused by the clashes is worn away which results in the harp.

It is a confederation medal from 1867. Five hundred were made in bronze, 50 in silver and 1 in gold. The four young women represent the four original provinces and the seated lady is Brittania. It is the only medal I have.

1967 Dollar Ghost

If you look at lustrous 1967 Dollars you will notice on the reverse there is a pattern in the lustre which they all seem to have. I believe the pattern is caused by the flow of metal into the portrait on the obverse and suspect the pattern would be rotated on the rotated or diving goose coins. http:...

Thanks Michael. I checked all I could find at the Edmonton show and recently on ebay and it is not rare to find in circulated condition. Here's the best I could find in Edmonton.

1936 The Park Coin Catalogue

Purchased a copy which I received in today's mail. Contains illustrations of tokens of Canada from 1670 to present(1936) by Bert Koper.
On the back is stamped JB Collectionne Les Mannaies Octave Pelletier.
Does anyone know of Octave Pelletier?

These are 1872 25 cent pieces? Defininately a variety I would like to find.

Thanks Bill, you're right in saying they are all different dies. The 1872 25 cent has H's all over the place which does make it easy to distiguish between most dies.

Small 2. Are the differences you found actually in the N's?

I have at least 6 with the doubled N and they all appear to be the same. One has the die crack in V of Victoria and one has the same die crack but with the top part of the A filled in. Here's another 1872 with doubled or blundered A in Victoria. I think this is tougher than the doubled N but that ma...

Here's 3 more photos for your comments. The first also has a doubled N in Canada. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/forum/class/test/DSCN5857.jpeg Is the next one a small 2? http://www.coinsandcanada.com/forum/class/test/DSCN5858.jpeg And here's one with one stem attached. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/...
