Re: George VI with a large lamination

la Cenne, Follow the link Henry posted. For more info see... Looks like a legitimately flawed planchet to me. Just that a lot of the metal has peeled and been lost in circulation. Additionally, FWIW, it appears the incuse towards the outside of the reverse die was extremely eroded, especially at the...

Re: PEI tokens or Medals 4 coin set Questions

I'm guessing these don't have a denominated value that you'd find on trade dollars. Sounds like they're a presentation set of medallions that may have been, more often than not, awarded individually. All the same design?.. nothing to differentiate the quartet other than different metals Freddy? Mayb...

Re: New member.

Very nice collecton Franklin and Henry. Welcome and thanks for posting all the photos! I noticed a labelling mistake in your book that you might have picked up on already... The Cindy Klassen and Sledge Hockey 25c are 2009 and the Klassen was also released as a colourized coin. Better put that one o...

Re: canadian 1950 one cent die clash

Yesiree, the second is the underside of Bertie's chin. You're not showing the date but I'm curious. Look for a clash running from the leaf to (through) the 5. As they say in far away galaxies... the force is strong with this one.

Attached AD is pretty common I think. It's a contained error and I suppose it wasn't a major concern in the scheme of things.

Re: 2012 $2 edge lettering

Forgot about those. I'll have a look, but I may have foolishly spent them. I was getting quite a few for a while there. New security twoonies with dimples around the rim from the edge lettering being struck too low or too high...

Anyone? I can't be the only one who was getting them.

1893 5 cent flawed planchet

Same idea as this penny here: 1932 1 cent flawed planchet . http://www.coinsandcanada.com/forum/class/test/1893_5c_rev_obv.jpeg Obverse: Flaws extending from the 'royal jaw' to the bottom of the effigy. All of these little shingles have worn or broken away except the one folded back on itself protec...

Re: What dates 1963-2011 Die variety too.Hunt!

There's no key dates in those years Jello. The 1965 Small Beads-Pointed 5 variety is your only salvation (thanks for playing)... but then again, a 1965 Large Beads-Pointed 5 would be the Holy Grail. Otherwise, besides BU's obviously, I'd be looking for double dates. Double 1969 seems pretty scarce. ...

Re: 1913 5 cent die crack

Thanks guys. I'll keep looking. I've had that coin for almost 25 years and can't remember if I ever knew that crack existed or not.. ...keeping a better record now though. Somewhat more recently acquired... got a 1893 obverse flawed planchet 5 cent last week. I'll post it when I get a chance. Cheers

Re: 2012 Loonie extra metal? Any thoughts?

That's a lot of extra metal. Almost like a weak spot in the die caused a hunk of it to break out (fall out).
New to me too.

Hi Jello, It was just a hunch. Bidness wimmin and all... Rose Knox, née Markward, aka Mrs Charles B.
