Re: 1874 H 25 Cents
Yes, with any number of cleaners under the sink or commercial coin "cleaners". Silver tarnishes easily and this isn't shiny at all under the tarnish removal ... it's just white and probably scrubbed as well. They are neat coins and you should keep it just because it's almost 150 years old, but worth...

F-15 and heavily cleaned. Not worth a great deal ... a very common date and condition takes it down.

Re: Unreal.....
The initial post is 11 years old. You have to be sure what "currency" you are talking about, US or Canada. An idividual coin may have been graded or very high grade. Sets, especially from the RCM, are granny bait only.

Re: 1938 Canadian Dollar Die Crack
Die cracks are caused by malfunctioning in the manufacturing process (in this case cracked dies) and are errors, not varieties. Unless spectacular in some manner (huge, cuds, etc) they are worth little, if any, premium, and normally drop the value of the coin.

Re: 1908 Mint Set
DDO means repunched somewhere on the Obverse. The 1908's were the first ones minted in Canada, and I think that they wanted things to look nice. As such, you can find any of the digits in the date slightly repunched as well, especially the 8. Look for any repunching on the Obverse legend, especially...

Re: 1859 penny value
It's worth next to nothing as a collectible, due to wear and rough life. They are good as golf ball markers or a pocket piece, but value less than a dollar.

Yes, drop them on a hard table from 1-2 inches above and listen to the ring of it. More silver will have a higher, sharper pitch.

I don't think struck through anything. It's Post-mint damage and will greatly reduce the price if sold.

Re: 1865 Newfoundland penny with d.p.6
I have both the original Griffin and monograph 1. It may be 601d, but who knows? Even at that, the GR601 varieties are only rarity 4 & 5, so not even close to rare. Don't send it to be cert'd... you'll lose money.

Re: 1865 Newfoundland penny with d.p.6
It looks like a repunch to me from the photo, but would have to see it in-hand to be sure. I don't remember this Newfie cent being discussed before on any coin site, but you should do a search of this site, CCF, Coin Talk, or the PCGS site. It is not worth sending it to a TPG. Unless you can actuall...
