IMO, PL and BU are marketing terms. If someone can tell me what proces separates a BU coin from an ms coin, i would appreciate it. The CACs site lists prices for circulated and uncirculated coins of Canada. For the Canadian Penny there were two main types for 2012. It seems to have a void going through the coin as a result too - the black area on the front and back seem to be related to missing material through the coin. Some of the value would also be related to the overall condition otherwise. it is hard to tell how much this has been circulated.

I see your 'frog', but a bit hard to tell what it is from the photo. Does it stand out or is it recessed? From the photo it could be anything including struck through grease to PMD. That it might look frog-like is guaranteed to be accidental.
