Hi, I’m just looking for peoples thoughts on toned coins. This happened from leaving it unprotected in my display case for quite some time.

Firstly, let's understand that toning is oxidation on the surface of the coin due to being stored in less than optimal conditions. That being said, sometimes toning can be really butt ugly & undesirable. In your case, many collectors would find that rainbow effect toning very desirable & would even pay a premium above the assigned grade. At the end of the day, beauty is in the eye of the beholder !. Henceforth though, I would just be careful to store coins like that in acid free holders in a dry & cooler environment to greatly reduce the toning process before it goes too far.

I would say that it was glued or attached to things. You should feel it. Try some acetone to remove the glue/stuff.
