storing coins

Hi everyone
I was putting some of my extra pennies into storage and my plan was to roll them (paper roll). I know of a collector in town that stores his extra coins in pill jars. I was wondering if there was a preference or if anyone had any tips on how best to store my "extra coins".
For clarity, my "keeper" coins are stored in plastic coin sleeves in a binder.
Comments and tips will be appreciated.

Edit: The coins are not valuable. I do really like them however and would prefer to keep them in the best condition I can.
