Hi,

I was wondering if there was such a dime with a 3rd sail on the right side of the Blue Nose.
If so, whould anyone know what year it came out?

Thanks

Yes, there was extensive discussion on a thread or two in the past. It just has the "name" third sail. It's just that the mint put their "cameo" treatment on a blank "air" section when it just should have gone on the sails. There were actually 3-4 small sections of air that were cameo'd when you look at all the sails. Just do a search on this site and you'll find them.

Please remove the above 2 posts in this thread by me, Bill in Burl,. I got mixed up and posted info on the third, or extra, sail on the toonie, not the dime. But I'm sure that the posted reason would be the same ... an error by the Mint.

You had me confused there for a minute Bill, I know that there are about 13 varieties of
an “extra sail” on the Toonie but have never seen one on a dime.
