How are errors coins recognized by grading companys

A grader spends very very little time looking at any coin. At one time, people who worked there said that it was between 15-25 seconds. When submitting a coin to include the error, you need to note on the application which error or variety that is there. TPG graders normally are only looking at the fields and main design elements

CCCS recognize the attached 6 not sure about the other TPGs

As I posted above, you need to include, with your submittal, which error or variety that you want included. You should also note the reference or research that you think applies, such as Charlton, CNJ, PCGS registry, Trends, or any other example that shows that it been formally recignized. For most TPG's, you will have to pay extra to have it noted on the holder ... some, not all TPG's.

Errors/varieties are first discovered by collectors. When well known and enough appeal to them, authors/editors might add them to their price guide. But it always comes from the "community".
