Specimen sets
I have a specimen set for 2009 I do not know the difference between specimen sets and proof is there any value with a specimen set?

As the last sentence of the rcm article said, originally specimen coins looked more like BU coins, containing no frosting. This can lead to confusion.

Prior to 1996 the default finish for specimen coins was brilliant relief on brilliant background.
The 2009 specimen set sells for about $50, the same price as in 2009.
