Unique Mystery Medallion??

Post by fishingpat » Thu Aug 20, 2015 5:54 pm

Hello, new member here, my name is Pat. Can anyone shed light on this mystery?
I will post a pic of this medallion later after work.

Description: about the size of a dime, it is possibly a Queen Victoria Jubilee commemorative medallion, although not sure if it is 1887 or 1897.
The front features Queen Victoria in center, surrounded by 4 of her children with their spouses.
The back features Prince Edward with his wife, surrounded by his other 4 siblings and their spouses. So in total, there are 19 faces.
The top edge has a loop for attaching a clasp. The loop is stamped "STERLING". There is a small ring attached to the loop. It used to have a red, white and blue ribbon attached.

I have searched data bases and googled thousands of images but have not found a single match. Does any one have experience with or knowledge of this medallion?

Thank you for your time and interest in this mystery.
Pat.

There were lots of items made for 1887. A photo would help greatly.
